R. Talsorian Games’ official blog announced the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit. The mission kit is described as a “starting box” for those who enjoy the Cyberpunk Edgerunners anime but have no expertise with tabletop roleplaying games. The rules, background on the grim future and characters like David Martinez, Dorio, and Lucy from Edgerunners will all be included in the box to help new players get started.
However, the Cyberpunk Edgerunners Mission Kit is something that seasoned players of Cyberpunk Red would appreciate. The reason has to do with the other contents of the box and the significance they have for the Cyberpunk timeline as a whole. The events of Cyberpunk Red take place in the year 2045, more especially in the year after a war has rendered Night City an urban wasteland.
This is reflected in the rules, global climate, and technological status. Meanwhile, the year 2076 is the setting for cyberpunk Edgerunners. This means that the mission pack will have information on how to use and stat up weaponry, cyberware, and hacking tools from that era.
