Sea of Thieves confirms Season 8 will come out later this month: Season 8 of Sea of Thieves will begin sometime later this month, the developer has stated. The new season kicks off on November 22, but before then, players can get a sneak peek at the update’s contents through a live stream on the official Twitch channel at 4 p.m. UTC on Friday, November 18.
Along with the update, the official results of the two-week war, Return of the Damned, will be shown. The players of Return of the Damned have the unique opportunity to vote on whether or not the game’s major antagonist, Captain Flameheart, will be resurrected in the game’s next story events. The future of the story in Sea of Thieves hinges on the players’ decisions to side with one of two warring groups, each of which holds a different view on Flameheart’s resurrection.

Servant of the Flame, who was raised by Captain Flameheart, is in charge of the evil Team Flameheart. The mysterious pirate Belle is in charge of the good Team Pendragon. Players have been expected to take one of two different paths through the game and finish the tasks at each fork to show their loyalty to their preferred group. Mike Chapman, the creative director of Rare, recently said in a podcast that the next season of Sea of Thieves would again focus on PVP after this side challenge is over.

Chapman has said that the team is working hard to find a balance between player-versus-player and player-versus-environment gameplay. He hasn’t said much about how they plan to reach this goal, but he has hinted that there will be new ways for players to do PVP and PVE in the seasons after Season 8.
If you’re a new player and want to read up on what’s going on in the tale, I recommend the just-published novel Heart of Fire. It tells the story of Captain Flameheart’s rise and demise, and the passion that drove the fight for his resurrection.
